Follow an illuminated trail into the woods and come across various iconic characters and movie settings from the Harry Potter universe, including Hagrid, the Hippogriff Buckbeak, and even the Flying Ford!

The forest trail is to the south of Melbourne about one hour away by drive. On-site parking is available and staff members will be present to guide you from the forest to the experience. 

By bus: Take the buses 781 or 788 to reach here.

  • Wheelchair accessibility: As the walking trail is situated outdoors, the surfaces may not always be smooth for wheelchair access. There are also inclines and descends on the trail that may be dangerous for wheelchair users. While accommodations can be made, we suggest that you contact the venue for accessibility-related questions at access_thebriars@feverup.com
  • Motorized scooter access: The trail is accessible to motorized wheelchairs and scooters. 
  • Carer access: If you’re bringing a carer along with you, they’re eligible for a free entry pass at the entrance. 
  • Guide dogs: Only assistant dogs will be allowed on the trail. 
  • Prams and strollers: Prams and strollers are welcome into the venue. However, make sure that the stroller is suitable for all terrains as there are a variety of surfaces within the experience.
  • Toilets: There are toilets available throughout the trail, including accessible toilets. 
  • Lost & found: If you lose any of your belongings on the site, you can contact the venue at lostproperty_thebriars@feverup.com and they will get in touch with you. 
  • Arachnophobia: The entire experience is meant to be family-friendly. However, there may be some elements that may feel spooky. If you’re especially afraid of spiders, you can even inform the venue in advance and special arrangements can be made for you to avoid spiders. 
  • Food: There are food stalls with snacks, light eats and beverages on the trail. 
  • Online car park reservation: If you’re driving down to the venue, we suggest that you pre book your parking spot online for just AU$16. You can also get a premium parking spot for AU$27. Onsite parking costs AU$20.
  • Age requirements: There are no age requirements for this experience, people of all ages can enter. However, children under the age of 12 years should be accompanied by an adult. There is free entry for children up to 2 years. 
  • Arrival: We suggest that you arrive at least 15 minutes before the slot mentioned on your ticket to make sure you have enough time to check-in. 
  • Wear comfortable shoes: As this is an outdoor trail experience, we suggest you wear comfortable clothes and shoes suitable for hiking and walking long distances. 
  • Bring rain gear: Carry small umbrellas or rain jackets to keep yourself protected from unexpected showers.

Do I need to print out my ticket?

You don’t have to print your ticket. You can simply show your mobile voucher with the QR code at the entrance and get access.

Can I book my tickets at the entrance?

You will be unable to book your tickets at the venue itself. Pre-purchase your Harry Potter: Forbidden Forest experience tickets online before heading down to the venue.

What’s the best way to reach this experience?

The best way to reach here would be to drive down by yourself in a car or get a taxi service. While public transportation is available, it’s also scarce with much walking involved. However, if this is your preference, you can take buses 781 or 788 from Melbourne to reach the venue.

Will I be a part of a group?

While bookings are made in slots and only a few people are allowed to enter the trail at once, you won’t be clubbed with any other group. You can continue to explore the trail by yourself and take as much time as you need.

How long can I spend on the trail?

The trail usually takes 45 to 90 minutes to complete. However, there isn’t a limit on how long you can spend on the trail.

What if I get late?

While it’s possible to make an accommodation in another slot that isn’t completely booked, we can’t guarantee that you will be given entry even if you’re late. We suggest that you arrive at least 15 minutes before the slot mentioned on your ticket to ensure entry. 

Is this a scary experience?

Harry Potter: Forbidden Forest was created as an all-ages experience. However, some elements may seem spooky or scary to some people. If you’re feeling too anxious to proceed, you can approach one of the staff members to help you out. 

Will there be flashing lights?

The trail will be illuminated by several lights along the trail. There may also be some flashing lights at certain exhibits, so we advise anyone sensitive to strobe lights to proceed with discretion. 

Do I need to watch Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts to enjoy this experience?

While it is recommended that you watch these movies to understand some contextual elements in the trail, it’s not an obligation. Even if this is your first magical experience, we suggest you indulge in it without hesitation. You can always go back and watch the movies later. 

Do I need a magic wand?

It’s not a necessity for you to own a magic wand before trying this experience. If you have one, definitely bring it along. You can always purchase a wand at the gift shop too.
