The views the peacefulness, the commentary was good but miss some of it because of other people talking on the boat, some very interesting info in it.
Everything went well with the tickets. At the counter for the boat tour, we were registered in the computer and received our boarding pass. The trip was nice. The explanations of the sights were interesting.
Ticketing was easy and quick. Friendly staff member at the ticket office-Fay. Michael and his assistant on board the boat were efficient and friendly. Good commentary.
The late afternoon cruise was very pleasant and informative. Good value for money. The only glitch was that it was not claer that that the electronic ticket and barcode had to be swapped for a paper ticket which I had to quickly do.
Booking on line was easy. Did the 2 hour tour, was very informative particularly all the history of the river and Melbourne over the years. Really enjoyed the tour around the port area which you really don't get to see except from a boat. Maybe the inclusion of an app or headphones to hear the commentary would be good as had a noisy bunch on board which made hearing a little difficult at times. Really good otherwise.
We did the 2 hour tour and were glad we did both. The river cruise was relaxing and very scenic. The guide was informative. The booking was simple and instructions were very clear.
The tour had a half hour break in the middle that wasn't clearly mentioned before which then put other commitments out as extra time hadn't been allocated. Accidents bought extra ticket but unable to do anything about it as you had to call the company.
Weather was amazing and the commentary was top notch. Very informative and interesting. A nice relaxing afternoon with refreshments provided. The crew were particularly helpful to people with extra needs getting on and off board.
The captain was great; friendly and very competent. The tour down stream was fabulous. Lots to see! The trip upstream was ok but not really worth the time or money.
The river cruise was suppose to be 2 hours and we only got an hour the ice bar was great
Informative guide. Nice site seeing.
Great interesting commentary about history of the river and Melbourne
The narration during the cruise was very informative.
Being able to see the sights of Melbourne from the River whilst listening to the commentory.
A pleasurable cruise, interesting commentary to go with the sights.
Overall was good experience with waiting in the line .
Excellent service wharfside and on board.
Seeing the city from the rivet
Informative and narration was good
Friendly staff relaxing speed good commentary
The experience was great. Very imformative and the crew were amazing. Would highly recommend.
It was a great way to spend a cold afternoon in Melbourne. Seeing the sights from a boat on the Yarra.
Boat trip was relaxing. Good commentary on the boat. The Sea Life Aquarium was bigger than expected & good.
The history of Melbourne comentry was very good . Setting on boat was average for a 2 hr sitting.
The email has been delayed. Except the delayed email, everything has been wonderful experience.

Pleasant cruise, nothing wow but all efficient, except no safety briefing at the start. There should be more on the geological aspect and detail on First Nations history and legacy.
It was a first time experience on Yarra river cruise. It was satisfactory. No complaints. The cruise information display was lacking at the jetty pick up point. It could be corrected.
We had an awesome experience at Sealife ! Photographer was friendly! Photos was spotted on! Tickets was a Little dear but it's worthwhile, walking distance from our hotel that a bonus! Could have gone there on our first day upon arrival xx
Everything went well with the tickets. At the counter for the boat tour, we were registered in the computer and received our boarding pass. The trip was nice. The explanations of the sights were interesting.
I loved the views and the fact that I could see the sunset up closer was really amazing experience 🤩🤩
Ticketing was easy and quick. Friendly staff member at the ticket office-Fay. Michael and his assistant on board the boat were efficient and friendly. Good commentary.
We liked the recorded commentary. However the guide who counted us in couldn't be bothered with being nice towards customers just spent time looking at his phone not helping me get a coffee while I had a toddler
Very well organized and the staff is helpful and friendly. The guide inside and the audio was good and clear explaining the highlights of the tour and the free coffee was the highlight too
Very comfortable Due to the rain, we cannot see the scenery clearly, if Chinese audio quide would be provided could be better experience.
The workers were really friendly especially the one wearing a cap. He offered to take photos of us and he knows all the good angles ahahaha. It was a good experience because we got to relax in the city. After a long day of exploring the city, we really needed to sit down, but this is better because it was with a view.

Simple booking platform with clear embarking instructions. Absolutely amazing cruise to experience Melbourne CBD and surrounds from a different perspective. Exceptional value for money and a 'Must do" experience. 👏🏽
The tour had a half hour break in the middle that wasn't clearly mentioned before which then put other commitments out as extra time hadn't been allocated. Accidents bought extra ticket but unable to do anything about it as you had to call the company.
Great chill having a relaxing drink watching over the city with the changing light as the sun goes down. Well worth a visit
Skydeck is simply lack of staff and it took us half hour just for queuing for the lift leaving the venue. It is horrible...
There was glare from some of the windows, which made it impossible to get decent photos. I have never experienced this from Skydecks before, as it is always assumed that the purpose of the structure is to allow maximum visibility of the view
Tickets were easy to buy and we were able to go and stay as long as we liked. The view is fabulous. I liked the fact that we could have snacks and drinks whilst gazi g out. I recommend going about 1htbefore sunset for good shots of the city.
Weather was amazing and the commentary was top notch. Very informative and interesting. A nice relaxing afternoon with refreshments provided. The crew were particularly helpful to people with extra needs getting on and off board.
Had a great time cruising up and down the Yarra River and going up the Skytower. The advanced booking / tickets worked great as didn't have to wait . Views where great.
The captain was great; friendly and very competent. The tour down stream was fabulous. Lots to see! The trip upstream was ok but not really worth the time or money.
The bar area was disappointing and did not feel welcoming. Happy hour was a very restricted offering. The staff were happy and the views spectacular
How exciting it was to view the city from the top. We also .over that there were food and drinks to enjoy while viewing the scene. Fun fun fun

It was easy to purchase tickets. On the other hand, it just showed one last date in December and the next one available only on January 7th, 2025. That's how we understood this would be the last chance in 2024.
The penguins and staff were awesome, disappointing was the lack of respect people had in regards to the no photography policy.
Ticketing experience was good, I actually forgot my phone at my apartment but was still able to check-in, the staff was very friendly and understanding as I didn't have any confirmaiton on me. Otherwise, the view was good and the penguins super cute
Seeing the wee penguin jn their natural habitat was so great. Learning about them and their breeding environment and hearing that the numbers of the penguin population is increasing.
I met lovely people. I was about 30cm away from several of the penguins, your staff were 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Amazing great experience from the moment I arrived I have mobility issues and was worried but was driven straight to the viewing area and a short 3 minute walk
My son was asking questions about the pingings and everything was answered with a lot of care. An amazing experience that everyone should do once in a lifetime 💙
The staff were so kind and gentle with my elderly parents and so nice to me loved every bit of jt keep up the good work so kind hearted and nice and loved the fact we could see the penguins up close thanks a dozen keep up the good work
Such a wonderful experience to see the penguins come out of the water and then up into the burrows. Simply a beautiful thing we have done as a family.
The low tide created a better experience where people sat close to the sides of the stand and on the sand. The weather was good. Overall we had a better viewing experience than previous visits. We had family visiting from Overseas who would spread a good word for the penguin parade experience.
The only problem with experience was that our sitting was next to the reserve sitting for the wildlife group who turned up late. The nation parks guide , Rosemary, talked throughout the presentation that was given by Sarah making it difficult for us to follow. Filling that idle chat continued throughout the evening handing out penguin jumpers and activity books. We have been on a number of trips where this is done before you are go into the event. In our opinion the guide should not have been talking whilst the guide for the event was speaking.
Ticketing was very easy. Everyone at the penguin parade is very helpful and courteous. It was a perfect weather night Always find it easy to walk around the gift shop and the displays Loved the movie about Philip Island. The walkways are very comfortable to walk on . Will be going back again.
Philip Island is absolutely gorgeous😍😍😍 I didn't expect that Penguin Parade would be the best experience. I ands my friends had so much fun and excitement watching and hunting Penguins 🐧🐧🐧 coming from 🌊 ocean. I will forever remember this experience.
I'm so glad we went and saw the penguins at Phillip Island and it's so popular, booking is an absolute must, as is wearing something warm. No photos do as not to frighten them and it's all about protecting the beautiful creatures and ensuring their continued safety. A fantastic experience booking through Head Out.
The seal cruise was incredible!! Hundreds of seals!! I've been to the Nobbies multiple times, and knew seal rock was right there, but the seals were invisible to the naked eye, from shore. So glad we decided to take this cruise. Highly recommend! And the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable!
The stay was great, we loved how fun and safe it was for children. We were so close to many attractions and will be back again!
The penguins were cute and we got great views of them, particularly on the boardwalk. Koala conservation had some close up koalas to photograph which was great. Churchill island was very enjoyable and informative. The three park pass is great value
It was a fabulous experience watching the penguins come out of the surf and then waddle up the the hill to feed their chicks. The ticketing experience was excellent.
All three experiences were amazing! We loved Phillip Island. *also, just to let you know, you sent us the wrong address for the Koala Centre. It took us to a wildlife sanctuary that wasn't included in the package. We had to ask someone else for the address.
My wife and went to see the penguin's Melbourne Cup long weekend we couldn't to much on the beach shore , definitely not 2004. But we saw more walking up the walk, that was much , much better, but it is a shame how some people treat them, people don't listen or they don't understand or they just don't care! Especially with cameras, but they are a cute little thing!
The Penguins 💖 Please Note - I understand the money paid assists with the wildlife, however it was extremely over crowded, which impacted greatly on the experience and had a noticeable impact on the Penguins themselves. Very commercialized.
Seeing the penguins. My family really enjoyed the experience - getting to see them coming out of the water and cautiously walking their way to their nest. I only WISH we were allowed to take photos/videos of the penguins. I know the flash will distract or scare them off, but atleast we should be able to record them as long as we turn the flash off. It'll be a great thing for us to reminisce and share with out loved ones.
We loved watching the penguins coming up from the Ocean back to their burrows . The most disturbing part was the lack of respect the tourists have for the Parks staff and the penguins themselves. Taking photos with flashes after being told several times to put them away. Standing up and not taking any notice of rules. I think as humans we have / are interfering too much with the Penguin habitat and should limit the nights / amount of people aloud in one area. Quite sad to watch the penguins get scared to walk back into their own territory.
The ease of entry and the information provided was very good, overall the experience was far more enjoyable than we expected. We travelled down from Sydney to do this and we have not stopped recommending this to family and friends.
Been able too see the sites on our own schedule with no time frame was fantastic, staff were very helpful and friendly thank you

Despite the reconstruction work taking place at the time I found that access to most of what I wanted to see and experience was retained. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. I would venture one suggestion : keep the different age sectors in mind when booking tickers, not everyone is tech savvy.

The staff were warm and welcoming with awesome hospitality. The meal and unlimited drinks were great. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing with beautiful view of the city at night. It's definitely worth it as we had a brilliant time.
From the time we boarded until we left the staff were exceptional. Extremely friendly and always right there to top up drinks before your glass was even empty. But it didnt feel like they were hovering. The food was plentiful and very tasty. The seating was not cramped so there was no problem moving around. Very relaxing from the top deck watching the night lights of Melbourne. Had a great experience celebrating my husbands 71st birthday.
Had a wonderful time on the Spirit of Melbourne dinner cruise. Location was easy to find, people were shown to their tables quickly and every spot had a great view. Food was delious and staff were very friendly and always asking if you needed anything. The included drinks were always being topped up! Definitely got bang for buck and had a pleasant time.
There was no major issue, but it was very odd to share the desserts (based on the description and price, I assumed that each person was getting smaller pastries and not big ones to share) and to eat the cheese platter after the desserts AND even worse after coffee/tea. It might be an Australian custom, but it is really bad for the stomach and I guess it would be safer to propose to have coffee / tea after the cheese.
The actual floating restaurant was nice and food was delicious. This was meant to be scenic tour, however it was dark and there was nothing interesting to see upstream. As a restaurant it was great, but it failed to be a scenic ride.
Loved the scenery, food and service. Second time on Melbourne River Cruise and enjoyed it even more than first!!! Diappointed with ticketing service as it is out of Australia and charged considerable O/S bank fees .
The attention and food were to our liking, I recommend this place to my friends.
The night was fantastic, beautiful food and very friendly staff on board. Excellent night.👍

Peak season vs low season
Peak travel season in Melbourne is from December to March during the summer. The weather is warm and dry which is perfect for cruises. Temperatures usually stay between 12° to 26°C, except for a few hot days. But this is also the time for school holidays, so expect large crowds wherever you go.
Autumn (Mar to May) remains cool and breezy, making it a good time to go on a Melbourne cruise. There are fewer crowds at this time as well. Spring (Sep to Nov) has lower temperatures than summer, but you can expect a few showers.
Weekdays vs weekends
Sightseeing cruises are available every day, so if you have the time, pick a weekday cruise. The weekends may get crowded, especially in the summer. However, meal cruises are usually only available over the weekends, so book your cruise a couple of weeks in advance to guarantee seating.
The two most common boarding points for Melbourne cruises are Southbank Promenade and South Wharf Promenade.
Addresses
Melbourne river cruises: Berth 2, Southbank Promenade, Southbank VIC 3006, Australia.
South Wharf: 45 S Wharf Promenade, South Wharf VIC 3006, Australia.
Melbourne Cricket Ground: Visit the second-largest cricket stadium in the world at MCG. Explore the Australian Sports Museum and uncover the history of the popular worldwide sports, Cricket.
Skydive Melbourne: An adventurous way to explore the Melbourne coastline, Skydive Melbourne offers 4 different dropzones to choose from. Also choose the height of your fall between 8000 to 15000 ft.
Phillip Island tours: Less than 2 hours away from Melbourne, Phillip Island is a traveler’s paradise for nature and wildlife lovers. Come across koalas, fur seals, whales and the island’s star animal, the Little Penguin.
Ballarat Wildlife Park: With freely roaming kangaroos and koalas, Ballarat is also home to the majestic Sumatran Tigers. Interact with the friendly animals and listen to ranger talks to learn about the native Australian wildlife.
You can usually find Yarra River sightseeing cruises available on both weekdays and weekends. Meal cruises, however, are usually held over the weekends.
The 1-2 hour Sightseeing Cruise on the Yarra River is the most affordable option, starting from AU$26.60.
Although both the Bottomless Brunch and the Spirit of Melbourne cruises serve alcoholic beverages, they also have mocktails, fruit juices and cold drinks for children. You can take your kids along on either of the meal cruises.
The Williamstown return ferry transfers have a 2-hour duration, sufficient time to take a quick tour of the suburb and return to Melbourne. However, if you wish to spend more time or stay the night, take a one-way transfer and a return ticket whenever you wish to head back.
Melbourne river cruises usually depart on time and will not be able to wait for you if you are running late. To avoid missing your cruise, we suggest that you plan early and arrive at least 15-20 minutes before its departure.
The cancelation policy for Melbourne river cruises vary from experience to experience. While some may allow cancelation up to 24 hours before departure, some cruises have cancelation up to 48 or 72 hours. Some cruises may also not allow cancelation but permit rescheduling. Read the cancelation policy of your ticket carefully before making the booking.
Melbourne river cruise combo tickets allow you to select the dates for each experience individually, so they’re valid until the day of your experience. You can check their availability and book whichever dates that are best suitable for you. However, keep in mind that you will be unable to modify your booking later.
